Over these past two weeks, Austin has bought and built a unique type of motorcycle; something meant to look old and rugged, often called a bobber. The term bobber derived from custom motorcycle builders as early as the 1940′s, which started as a way to remove un-needed and heavy items from the bikes. Bobbers have increased in popularity over the years and many variations are seen throughout the internet and streets. Now from the look of the bike stock, it would be hard for one to pick out the bobber style Austin has been looking for; but with a proper incentive and exquisite motivation, it can be done. So these past two weeks every second of down time has been devoted to this bike, and damn is it coming along nicely.
The first few mods came about by taking the stock handle bars off and adding some new, smaller, clip on handlebars (similar to that of a cafe racer or newer sportbike). The second thing was taking apart both the front and rear end of the bike, to clean and paint the wheels, forks, headlight assembly, gas tank, as well as the frame. Austin ordered a small cat eye tail light to simplify the rear and purchased a leather solo seat in place of the huge two up seat design.
